Terms of Service

Last updated September 20, 2026

These are the rules for using NongBoy. By creating an account or using the website (nongboy.cc) or the NongBoy contractor app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use NongBoy.

The short version

The full terms follow. They matter more than this summary if the two ever differ.

1. What NongBoy is

NongBoy is an online marketplace that helps people in Bacolod City who need a job done (“customers”) find local tradespeople such as aircon technicians, plumbers and electricians (“tradespeople” or “contractors”). A customer posts a job, matching tradespeople can send quotes, and the customer chooses one.

We only make the introduction. NongBoy is not a contractor, employer, agent or insurer of any tradesperson, and we do not do the work. When a customer chooses a quote, the agreement to do the work — what will be done, the price, the schedule, warranty and payment — is between that customer and that tradesperson. We are not a party to it. Payment is arranged directly between them; NongBoy does not currently take or hold payment for jobs.

2. Who can use NongBoy

3. If you are a customer

4. If you are a tradesperson

5. Messages and contact details

Until a customer chooses a tradesperson, NongBoy automatically hides phone numbers, emails, social handles and similar contact details in their messages, and shows a notice when it does. This protects both sides until there is a real commitment. Don’t try to get around it, for example by spelling numbers out, hinting at other apps, or asking the other person to contact you elsewhere before a job has been awarded.

We may review messages and other content when we need to investigate a report, enforce these terms, or comply with the law.

6. Reviews

7. What you upload

You keep ownership of the photos, documents and text you upload. You give NongBoy a non-exclusive licence to store, resize, process and show them to the people and in the places described in our Privacy Policy — for example a job’s photos to tradespeople who open the job, and past-work photos to customers who receive a quote — for as long as you keep them on NongBoy. You promise you have the right to upload them and that they don’t break the law or anyone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

8. What you may not do

9. Verification and ratings

When we mark a tradesperson “verified”, it means we looked at a document they submitted and approved it. It is not a guarantee of their skill, honesty, licence, insurance or the quality of their work, and documents can be genuine yet still not tell the whole story. A “verified by the customer” badge on a past-work photo means the customer of that job said the photo is of their job. Ratings are opinions of individual customers.

10. Notifications

We send you a code by SMS when you sign in. Once you have an account we may also text you and send app notifications about what is happening — for example a new quote or message on your job, that a tradesperson says a job is finished, or that you have been chosen for a job. Message and data rates from your mobile provider may apply. Tradespeople can turn text alerts off in the app. If you are a customer and want to stop text alerts, contact us and we will turn them off. Sign-in codes are always sent when you ask for one.

11. Safety

Meeting someone and having them work in your home or workplace carries risk. Use common sense: check quotes and reviews, agree the price and scope first, don’t pay everything before the work is done, and be careful about who you let in. If you ever feel unsafe, leave and contact the authorities. Tell us about serious problems so we can act.

12. Problems between customers and tradespeople

Disagreements about price, quality, delays, damage, payment or anything else about a job are between the customer and the tradesperson, and you should try to sort them out directly first. We may, but are not obliged to, look into a report, take action on an account, or share relevant information with the other side or with the authorities where the law allows.

13. Suspension and ending your account

We may suspend or end an account, remove content, or refuse a verification if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, someone is at risk, or we are required to by law. A suspended account is signed out and cannot sign back in, and a suspended tradesperson stops receiving leads and their open quotes are hidden from customers. We record the reason and, where we can, tell you. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we will look again.

You can stop using NongBoy at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. Some records may be kept where we are required to, or need them to resolve a dispute.

14. NongBoy as it is

NongBoy is an early-stage service. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that a customer will receive quotes or that a tradesperson will receive leads or win jobs. We may change, pause or stop any part of it, and we will try to give notice of significant changes.

15. Our responsibility to you

To the fullest extent the law allows, NongBoy is not responsible for the work, conduct, statements, licences or prices of any tradesperson or customer, or for loss, injury, damage to property, missed appointments or payment disputes arising from a job arranged through NongBoy. Nor are we liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit or business.

If we are found liable to you despite this, our total liability for any one claim is limited to the amount you paid NongBoy in the 12 months before it, or ₱1,000 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Philippine law, including for fraud or deliberate wrongdoing, or takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.

16. If your actions cause a claim against us

If a claim, loss or cost against NongBoy results from your breach of these terms, your content, or your dealings with another user, you agree to cover it to the extent the law allows — this does not apply where we caused it.

17. Privacy

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app, on the website or by SMS. If you keep using NongBoy after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don’t accept them, stop using NongBoy and ask us to close your account.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. If we can’t settle a dispute with you by talking it through, it will be brought in the proper courts of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
